| Ok, I have one moonflower bush and it is about 4 feet wide and 3 feet tall....during the day thel eaves wilt and when the sun goes down the leaves perk back up...so apparently it is getting way too hot during the day. What happened my mother in law gave me a baggie of plant seeds (not knowing what was in there) and so I planted them. I think the moon flower is getting too much sun and not enough water. I live in the country where I have clay soil in places and sand in others, I want to transplant it in the back where it is more shady but right now in September is looking like it is dying..no more buds and the leaves stay wilted..I have never had one of these before and I am so confused I want to keep this beautiful bush....PLEASE HELP |

| I just started reading this forum and it seems like people are calling several different plants by the common name "Moonflower". It sounds like you are talking about Datura. It will do fine in full sun or partial shade. When it starts to droop like that, give it a drink. Are you allowing it to form seed pods? They look like little thorny green apples. The plant grows easily from seed. It will self sow in your garden or you can harvest seed when the pods start to crack open. You can plant your seed in a new location or start it in pots. It's so easy to grow from seed that I wouldn't worry about transplanting. |
