I have left ours alone and they have rewarded us with lots of seeds.

I was told the vine I'm growing is a moonflower vine.. Could you please tell me if when you open the seed pods if the seeds are dark brown and have a light brown fur like covering around the seeds when you open the pod....The vine I have has been growing for three years and finally bloomed this year..I never got to see the flowers because I was gone for the summer.....
