Finally my moon flowers started to grow, and I just seen the flowers tonight. I have white moon vine flower. Are tehy an annual or per.? Thanks jmwemt

Was also wondring if there is any kind of mooon flower that would have a blue color to it? And if so, the names of them. thanks, jmwemt

If they are the large white flower, it should be a perennial. Mine comes back up every year and also has prickly seed pods...which you can share with others or plant them elsewhere.

If you have the moon flower vine it is an annual, the more bushy moonflower plant (my favorite) is a perrenial. It's the kind with the spiked seed pods like mimirom was talking about. I think the perrenial is datura and the annual vine is ipomea.

This is my first year growing datura. I didn't realize that they get so big. Can they be trimmed to keep them smaller? The space where they are would work if the size could be around 3-4 feet in diameter.
