Help Me PLease

Hi Everyone-
I am wondering if anyone can tell me if you can reseed the seeds that moonflowers make after the flower falls off. If you can reseed in the spring, does anyone know how to preserve the seeds until spring? Please help! Thank you.

Typically, if the seeds naturally drop in the fall, just let them fall and they should germinate in the spring, when it warms up. I do a lot of fall/winter sowing of outdoor plants.

hi maddiemac2003

I keep mine in a plastic jar as a safety measure, though I've never had to replant the vines - they self seed quite readily.

I'm probably not helping much because we live in subtropical coastal australia and they grow all year round. Though I have given 6month old seeds to friends and they sprout quite readily.

I keep my seeds in a old prescription bottle ( or in a washed film cannister ) and they are fine when spring comes around. I have even sowed 2 yr old seeds and they grew too, to my utmost surprise!
