Seed Starting Early Feb

Hello-- what should be started in early Feb in the northern midwest? Specifically northern IL. Last year I started a lot of things too early so I don't want to jump the gun this year. Any vegies that MUST be started early? I will prob. start petunias this week and maybe coleus. Any other flowers need to be sown this early? I use a heat mat and lights. When is the best time to start snapdragons? What I will be growing this year from seed sown indoors: tomatoes, peppers, eggplants, petunias, snaps, zinnias, coleus. I think everything else will be direct sown. I always get spring fever and go a little wild :)

Of those listed I start petunias and coleus around the 22nd of Feb. I also start impatiens then as well.

Eggplant and zinnias around the end of March and tomatoes and peppers the beginning of April.

Sorry, no help with the snaps.

thanks--- i did start some petunias already but will wait a week to do more :) I found my log from last year and I started lots of things about the 2nd and 3rd week of Feb. Nothing got WAY out of hand, but I had to pot up more than I had wanted. Plus, last year I went to florida for about 10 days in early march and had to have things either well underway or not started yet. this year i will be here to tend to everything myself. so i can wait a bit on some things. i like to plant in the increase of the moon and that won't come around again until the 22nd so i guess it's best to wait until then. it's just so darned hard to wait!
