Petunias would be first on your list and I'd start them next week, coleus maybe a week or two later. What veggies? Tomatoes and green peppers would be around March 24.

started my snaps, cpleus, eggplants, peppers, basil, parsley. going to start tomatoes soon. very tiny seedling up and under lights. am trying micro-greens for salad and they are just about ready to harvest and start again. growing radish, broc, alfalfa, sprouting mix.

This time of year everyone is "biting at the bit" to get out in the garden and start planting; I know I am. But be careful. it may seem unseasonably warm right now, but that doesn't mean there can't be a late frost. A great resource to follow is the NOAA frost date finder. (See the link below.) Just select your state from the list and a PDF document will open. You will see the numbers 90, 50, and 10 in big bold numbers at the top of the list. For example in Kingman, KS there is a 10% chance of frost on May 10th.
But if you really have to plant some of your garden now, the best vegetable plants that are more resistant to frost are broccoli, brussel sprouts, cabbages, collards, kale, kohlrabi, mustard, onions, parsley, peas, radishes, spinach, turnips, leeks, sorrel, potatoes, and rhubarb.
The best flowering plants are Corn Flower, Ornamental Cabbage, Pansies, Primrose, and Violets.
