lettuce in patio pot

I planted Black-Seeded Simpson lettuce seeds in a patio pot on St. Pat's day. I always grow lettuce in my large containers each year and it has worked out Very Well for me. This is pretty early to plant outside with the weather we've had in Naperville this year but Hey...I got the seed for less than a dollar...it was worth a try! I'll let you know if this early planting worked.

RE: lettuce in patio pot

I have sprouts coming up in my window boxes in Downers Grove now. I also have seedling in the garden along with chard and spinach. Tonight they are hiding under some raised boards because of the expected snow, but I should be able to uncover them again tomorrow!
