Is Akebia quinata evergreen in 6a?

Can anyone tell me if an Akebia quinata 'Purple Bouquet' would be evergreen in 6a (probably even a 6b or 7a with the microclimate advantages). From what I can determine, it'd be at least semi-evergreen, but what about evergreen?

I'm looking for something evergreen as a contrast backdrop for some redtwig dogwoods that I'm planting in a pretty narrow area between the house and the neighbor's very dull grey privacy fence. I'd love it to bloom, have fragrance and attract birds. The 'Purple Bouqet' Akebia would be perfect as I'm also going to add a 'Black Lace' Elderberry which would really bring out the Akebia's purple flowers. Not asking for much, am I? :) If any has any other suggestions, I'd love to hear them.

Thanks!
