low groundcover for no sun

We have a shed in our backyard. If faces west. North side is not mudd but CLAY. The south side gets a bit of sun since the trees don't cover it as much. I have one plant in there that is too big, but I trim it down.

I would like to put some plants on the north side, but am unsure what. We don't want more tall plants. I have those all along the back. I would like a low groundcover with maybe a plant on the corner that I can plant on the opposite corner. I do see the shed from my kitchen area.

I had peppermint there one year and um, it took over.
