As I walk around the yard I notice not all the plants are up yet, particularly the delphiums. I dont think te\hey like winter wet or summer full sun, so I planted them on the NW corner of the house and they performed really well since I had flowers well into fall. I also planted them in rocky ammended soil near a drainage downspout so i know it isn't wet all winter. Maybe the sun isn't high enough yet to hit that corner of the house?

Has anyone who successfully grows delphs seen them come up yet in the chi-town area?

It seems this cold spring has everything comming up late as some daffodils in shadier locations are just breaking dormancy.
