Can someone help me? I,ve never bought Dianthus plants before, but I bought a few the other day. They were blooming when I got them, but the blooms have died off. I pinched those off, but their not doing anything now. How do you care for these plants?

Throw it in the ground and spit on it or water it. LOL They're very low maintenance and I would make sure it's in well-drained soil that doesn't hold water too much or it'll rot.

After it blooms, just cut it back and you should get another flush of blooms in the fall.

Mine usually come back the following year. So, you will get two years of blooms. They usually bloom Mid Spring through early Summer. Then, cut them back and they'll bloom again later in the summer. They seem very hardy too. Good Luck!!

When I bought them, they were sold a bi-annuals, but mine lasted for at least 4yrs. The bloom beautifully in spring then intermittently, and less spectactularly in summer.

A fter I pinched them back, they finally produced one bloom. Thats all I,ve had, but its been chilly and windy.
