RE: Bleeding Hearts Hit by Frost?

I have the same situation with my bleeding hearts so I called the County Extension Master Gardeners and asked your question. Their advice was to do nothing for at least two weeks. That advice was for all the plants damaged by the cold weather. After it warms up, we can get a better look at what's merely damaged and what's truly gone. Personally, I don't think my bleeding hearts are going to perk up. I also don't think they'll send out a new round of stalks and flowers but ya never know.

We're expecting another round of freezes later this week and maybe again before the end of the month (ACK!). Leaving the wilted leaves on the ground around the plant may protect it from the future cold.

Good luck to us all :)
