Commercial Strawberry Grower Question??

Wanted to see what your opinions are on this!! We have about an 1/4 acre of strawberries that we raise to sell, we have them on black plastic with the drip irrigation. We are somewhat new to this but anyway the plants are starting to get flowers but on some of them there is a sorta small black hole in the middle of it that is only on some of the flowers??? Does anyone know if that is something to be worried about?? Also the plants don't seem to be quite as bushy looking as they were the previous year, not sure what would be wrong. Was also wondering what you would reccomend with fertilizing. we have 20-20-20 and 12-48-8 , like what amounts ya'll use and that sorta thing. We live in eastern iowa!! Thanks so much and looking foward to your replies

RE: Commercial Strawberry Grower Question??

There's tons of information on growing strawberries on the internet, or try your state cooperative extension office for publications (might also be available via the internet). And there's a market gardening forum that you might want to check out. I thought there was one for small fruits, too, but I can't find it on quick glance. Good luck!

Here is a link that might be useful: market gardening
