Wanted: venders of 3.5' perennials

I hate buying perennials in gallon size pots; especially when I'm putting in a new bed. I live near LaCrosse, WI but often get to Madison, Stevens Point, and points north along Hwy 51 to Minocqua. Can anyone recommend places to shop?

Hanson's in Rhinelander is one such place but more is always better.

Hi Kimmers,

Yeah, those 3.5 foot pots get tough to deal with! LOL - it's the kind of mistake I would make.

If you get to Madison then check out the farmers market around the state capitol on Saturday mornings. I have gotten plants in small pots there in previous years.

If you travel to Madison, I highly recommend going to the flower factory. The amount of variety is incredible. Some in 3.5 " pots some in 4.5" pots and lots of others in all sizes of pots. Costs range between reasonable to pricey, but well worth the trip.

It is actually located to the southwest of Stoughton but is fairly close to Madison

Yes, don't miss the Flower Factory. Great plants and large variety. Also near you is Northern Grown Perennials. They have mostly hostas and daylilies, but very large plants and reasonable prices--Don't let the prices of a few of their hostas scare you. They have lots of regular kinds too. They are not a retail operation, but have a website. ngp@mwt.net
