Siberians are more tolerant of wet feet then bearded iris. I can't say it prefers it tho- I haven't stuck mine in a wet spot. Maybe someone else has??

You might like that spot for a more sizable iris like iris pseudocorus.(flag iris) It likes it wet or regular and is fine even under 6" of water. Now I know I'm going to have someone tell me that this plant is invasive (so just save it)- but it's fine here and hasn't been naughty for me. I like the 4 ft foliage. It even comes variagated.

If you want something shorter but like iris foliage try-
acorus- which is not an iris at all. But it comes variagated and is a water plant that will be happy in
regular garden conditions.- at least that's what I've heard here- new walmart purchase:)

I have clustered bell flowers and my porcelain berry vine (ampelopsis elegans variagated) in my wet spot(when it rains) and they love it there!

I have Siberian iris that thrives in soil that is barely lifted above 'pond level.' However, I've seen it do well in neighbors yards that are high and dry.
What does that tell me? That Sibs are pretty darn adaptable.

I think I have some variegated sweet flag in the back yard. I could move some, but I'm game to try the Siberian iris now. The iris pseudocorus sounds neat--I might have saved the whole square for it if I didn't buy first and ask later. It is a good spot to put something invasive as it's bounded by sidewalk, stairs and house.

I'll go for it, as soon as the weather warms up a little!
