I am in NW IL zone 5a.

Spinach - sow as soon as the ground thaws enough to sow. Found I can get earlier salads by leaving last years in as they are perrenial in my garden and I think the 2 yr olds taste the same.

Mesclin mix- love the stuff at Farm and Fleet- sow May 15- may 30
Asparagus seed- summer or when you plants make it availbalbe. 3 ys until good creamed on toast.

Tomaotes- I grow heirloom and others- start 6 weeks ahead of planting out INSIDE under lights. Plant out June 1 in bottomless drywall buckets due to severe winds. Now blooming and 1-2 ft tall. No, I do not get the first tomato of the season- that goes to folks who buy plants or live in town.

Zucchini, yeelow zucchini like squash- after last frost.

Garlic- don't have now but fall planting. Chives spring plant.

Flowers- depends on what they are. Some early with spinach and some late when I get around to it. You can LMK by emailing personally if you have a certain type in mind. I've started over 600 types.
