I live in Overland Park KS and I am completely overhauling my front landscape. I want to add some good color, as long as possible, and knock-out roses come to mind as my only option for front plantings w/ long lasting color. Problem is, while I love KO roses, I see KO roses everywhere in KC area and just wanting something a bit different! Any recommendations of a shrub that will bloom vibrantly and last long throughout the summer as an option to KO roses?

Also looking for good options for mid size foundation shrubs (evergreen) as I'm tired of boxwood, junipers, and barberries....something different that does well in this climate??
