What is going on with my coreopsis?

| We had a dry Spring in Missouri and now it's flaming hot. I've noticed that many of my perennials, particularly my moonbeam coreopsis, are just not up to snuff. I still don't have flowers and only one (out of a half dozen or so) look healthy. At the other end of the spectrum, I have asters the size of trash cans. I've had to shear them back once already to prevent early bloom. What gives? |

Coreopsis Moonbeam doesn't care for hot dry stressy conditons. They are many times not long lived for that reason. I have lived there and it was pretty hot and dry and my soil was pretty clay like and it baked hard without soil amendments. You might mulch and keep it damp for a few days and just see if it perks up? Ruthann M.G. |
