Vegetables OK to plant now?

joandaugh

I just did some revamping (with much help a boxwood hedge came out) of a raised bed I've been using mainly for herbs. Now I have a 3 foot by 7 foot end of the bed that I'd like to plant something edible in. Is there something I could start now from seed that has a short growing season? I know there are some things that people reseed most of the summer, but I'm more of a flower grower so I have no clue. I see tomato plants at Menard's but isn't it late for that? And I don't suppose any of them are repugnant to raccoons . . . but I'm willing to try.

Thanks for suggestions.
