Paw Paw in Chicago area?

Posted by ferrous z5 (My Page) on

I have a 2 year old paw paw tree. I want to buy more so they can cross pollinate and fruit.

Anybody has success growing paw paws around Chicago or zone 5?

RE: Paw Paw in Chicago area?

I planted six last Spring, they survived their first winter. Doing OK currently. Planted five more this year. Hoping for the best. They do well here. I have a friend who has several that are 25-30 years old and bearing fruit yaerly.
