A friend of mine gave me some hollyhock seeds and I was wondering when to plant them. Can I do it now or should I wait until Spring? Thanks for any help.

you can plant them now ... as my plants have finished blooming (& their seed pods have turned brown) i have been scatering them ... & many have already germinated!!

if i were you, that is what i would do with 1/2 of them now ... and wintersow the rest ... to be on the safe side ...

good luck, phyl

I agree. If you get some going now, then they will bloom next year, as they are biannuals. If you wait 'til spring, then you probably won't have blooms until 2009!! :-(
