How soon can I reseed after spot treating with Roundup?

I am about to spot treat some Canadian Thistle in my lawn with Roundup. I have been mowing it down for two summers and it is laughing in my face and sending shoots to my garden beds. I am sure I will get a few bare spots with the treatment, and I am wondering how long I should wait before patching the lawn with seed. I want to get it going as soon as possible after the thistle is dead, because I am in Michigan and first frost can come early! Can I plant right away or should I wait a while?

The label will tell you to wait a week. If you can wait that long, then wait a week. But in reality, you can reseed right away because Roundup only works through plant foliage, which seeds don't have.

It may take several applications to kill Canada thistle. I'd wait until you are sure they are dead.
