any perennial sales in NW chicago suburbs?

| I've been hoping to fill gaps with some fall discounted perennials. But I've been unable to find anything: either wiped out or still at full price in a few places (!). I've already blown this year's budget and then some (actually, most of next year's).
Anyone have any finds for me? Pleez?? I especially need an assortment of Heuchera for a new shade garden: have found only Regina and palace purple so far. Also Astilbe, hosta, etc. I'm not keen on most mail order: the plants I ordered so far were such wimpy shrimps. |

| Linnea, did you try Jamacian Gardens? I'm not saying they have a sale, but you can give them a call..There are two JG's..One is in Morton Grove, and I believe the other store is in Libertyville..I'd give them a ring, and see what they say..Last year about this time we drove to the MG store, and they had some beautiful plants..Toni |

Check out: - Countryside Gardens in Crystal Lake. I bought 2 Tree peonies for $10 each ~ regularly $40 each and 2 Cl. Quadras for $6 ~ regularly $25 each. Shrubs are 40% off and I believe that the perennials were the same. - Barn Nursery in Barrington. Haven't been, but read that they have the same deal ~ 40% off on plants. I really love buying plants this time of year! |
