Hi all,
Does anyone have experience growing this plant in the Midwest? I notice BBG has chosen it for it's Select Plants program, and it's suddenly showing up all over the wholesale catalogues. Just can't find much info. Thanks in advance. |

| It is a moderate growing, suckering shrub to about 3-4ft in height and spread. It appreciates well-drained soil and does well in full sun or part shade. It begins its bloom here heavily in about May/June for about one month. It's doing a bit of repeat bloom right now. I don't think it is the blooming machine it is reported to be and I can't detect any scent at all, though some people sware it smells like a lilac... Personally, I like the blossom color (violet), but it's probably highly overrated. |

Ah, So, as feared, it is very little like the promotional lit. And yet, optimism shaded with stoicism springs eternal. Thanks for the information doniki. |
