OK is it me , or is there a cicada invasion this year ? All the web sites I have seen state that we are not due for one this year, but dang they are LOUD. I can't even carry on a conversation outside in the evening, and have to shut the windows to hear the tv without blasting it. What do you think????

Depends on where you are. A Facebook friend of mine recently posted a photo of cicadas on a tree branch, in New Paltz, New York. The tree was covered with these insects, there must have been 100 or so in the photo. However, here in Madison, Wisconsin, I am only seeing a few this year, so far.

Well I haven't seen a lot of them but the sound is deafening. I am in the city of Chicago.
