Fall Woodland Planting

| Hello,
I'm new to the midwest and am planning on replanting some shady slopes with woodland wildflowers (woodland sunflower, white snake root, wild geranium etc.). I'm unsure when is a good time to do fall planting in this area - when do people usually put plants in the ground?

| I try to get everything in the ground by early Oct. at the very latest. Mid to late Sept. is the best time to be working out in the yard after a hot summer. Keep in mind, though, fall bloomers like to be planted in the spring, OTOH, there's exceptions to every rule. I say, if you've got it already, plant it. |
