Just wondering what your favorite Pink, Purple & Rosey red Oriental & Asiatic Lilies are? I have lots of Daylilies I would like to replace with them I just do not like the foliage on the Daylilies! I will be putting them on a South Side which gets pretty hot. I live in zone 4

I don't have many, but my favorite is 'Black Beauty.' It blooms reliably in part shade & can get very big. In full sun it might not need staking, but where I have it, it leans over unless propped up.

Stargazer is an old standby. 2/3 ft so does not topple over. Hardy to z4. I also liked lolipop. The chippies burrow thruout the bed I had with these beauties, and I suspect they ate the bulbs.

The black beauty mentioned by entling is a really old fav. and can get up to 6 ft tall. I had it at my old house in a dampish spot and it really thrived. Bloomed in August, when others stuff was looking limp.

You may want Asiatic rather than Oriental types, so read up on the differences. Asiatics are hardy to z3.
