Tons of grubs in my lawn :- (

Just discovered bunch of grubs under yellow patches! I thought that I didn't water the grass enough but it is not the drought, this is grubs problem. Any suggestions how to get rid of them in zone 5? I don't like to use a lot of chemicals, is there anything more or less natural? is there a different forum for this problem? I did some research, but for some reason the most articles about grubs are for Texas...I'll appriciate advice and opinions
Sonia

Skunks are a natural solution. Otherwise you need to determine whether you have June beetle grubs or Jap beetle grubs. The remedies vary depending on grub type. If you google lawn grub, you'll likely come upon numerous sites explaining the difference.

Just find a fisherman and let him/her know that you have those kinds of grubs. The ones in the picture in taitai's link are the best fishing bait I have ever used. Especially for Bass. When I find them I also put them in the tarantula's terrarium. Fang thinks they are a delicassy.

Bob,
Thought I would share a little tale about skunks and grubs. I live on an island off the coast of Massachusetts that until the 1960's had no skunks, but provoked by the eternal desire for the perfect lawn a gentleman brought from the mainland a single pair. Without a single predator it took no time to become an invasive pest, the destruction of my lawn in search of grubs always far exceeds any damage that might be done by the grubs. These critters are not the cute little Pepe LaPewee that one might think, on early morning runs I have been chased a number of times by a mom with her babies. My daughter was sprayed when startling one on her bicycle and my dog has been sprayed so often it has become part of our routine. Our local rural legend has always clearly named the individual who brought the pair of skunks to the island and a few years ago when included in a book on local oral history the poor fellow tried to clear his name but you know how legends are...truth matters little. Now if your really looking for trouble moles like grubs as well. kt
