Rhus aromatica - Gro Low

This is my first time posting in this section, and I know virtually nothing about gardening but here goes...

Have any of you planted rhus aromatica (gro low)? I planted 2 this year. They each are about a foot tall and a foot wide. Does anyone know how quickly they grow? How much spread, if any, could I expect by this time next year?

They are both planted in a part sun location next to a brick fence in Chicago.

Does anyone have a photo that they can share?

Thanks in advance!

I was thinking about planting this too but decided not to after reading responses from Dave's Garden website where I get a lot of research info. I live in Minnesota. What I read was that this shrub really needs a good 6 hours of sunlight daily. I don't have that much of it where I wanted to plant it. If you lives in the Carolina's or there about it would probably grow better. One guy said that he planted it in an old gravel road and it tripled in size in one year, but then he was in North Carolina. I don't think that it thrives in our winters.
