What's blooming in October?

Just thought I'd ask before the cold weather swoops in.

Toad lillies, japanese anemones, and my token mum are just starting to open up. Asters are in full bloom (Prof. Kippinger and Purple Dome) and the following are still hanging on: tall phlox, speedwell, geranium 'rozanne', and balloon flowers. My garden highlight is dahlia 'bishop's children' - only one made it through the drought and is now putting on a bunch of burgundy flowers.

All my Hydrangeas are still blooming, colors have pinkened all the way. I usually have a late resurgence this time of year with my perennials - not yet. Hardy Fuschia looks best it has. Annuals still Ok

Hi. I'm new to this forum. After spending a year in the southern US we are back home in Ohio. We live in a very tiny town right in the middle of the state. Since we moved the last week of June it was July until I was able to do anything about gardening. I'm ecstatic to have a variety of sunflowers, calendula, roses and cosmos blooming away. I realize their days are numbered (we're supposed to have a frost by Friday) but I'm basking in their glory for the meantime. I'm going to try to cover them. Wish me luck.

There is so much blooming around me right now. My neighbor has tons of roses that are going strong, cannas and too many other things I don't know the names of.

In my yard the only thing still blooming is the nearly wild rose bushes. But then again I only have two things that bloom. LOL.

Iris! Have heard they sometimes have a second bloom in fall, but it's a first for me!

Roses: National Parks, Tuscan Sun, Disneyland, Betty Prior, Bonica. Country Dancer is filled with buds, hoping that she has a chance to put on a show. This next week is supposed to be unseasonably warm, there's a good chance of this. I also have a cutting of an unknown rose from home that is trying to do it too. Few sporadic blooms from Distant Drums and Double Delight.

Others: Toad lily, salvia, yellow laterna. All blooming bigtime.
