This probably won't be overly helpful, but we brought our Hibiscus inside last year and it did fine. It even flowered a couple of times.

We didn't do anything about the bugs. We didn't have problems with them. We put it near a south facing window but it only got a few hours of direct sunlight. We watered it when we felt it needed it.

This plant used to be called Dipladenia. You should find more info searching that name also.

What kind of bugs do your plants have?

We have a tropical hibiscus that we have now successfully overwintered for 3 years (assuming it survives til spring LOL). It does lose almost all of it's leaves when it comes inside but some grow back and there are occasional blooms. This morning it had 4 lovely red flowers! This year I also brought in 2 red mandevilla, and one white one. The white died pretty quickly but both reds are growing like crazy, I really hope they make it. Also overwintering inside a Escargot begonia and a gorgeous red geranium that I just couldn't give up, both are currently blooming too! We have almost 25 houseplants (some go out in the summer but are tropicals) and have never had a problem with bugs or disease...of course, we also have an almost indecent amount of really good light (heated sunporch plus a spare room with big south and west windows). Hope your plants are doing well and live til it's safe to take them back out!
