Strawberries

Hi everybody,

I'm a fan of organic gardening, and can't seem to keep the grass out of my strawberries. I have heard that pine duff (that's what my husband calls it) is great for that. What do you think? In the meantime I've got really ugly strawberry beds, with grass much longer than the plants. I've been told that strawberry plants are hard to kill, so I'd like to just mow the whole area and mulch with the pine in the spring when I can tell what is what. Any suggestions?

Thanks, Karen
