my catalogs say sugar baby is ready in 75 to 85 days from transplanting. With nights getting colder, you'd probably have to extend that time.

Try to find a variety called BlackTail Mountain...Seed Saver's exchange used to have one. One of the sweetest melons, icebox size, and it has a short growing season. I wrote about it in the blog post below:
