Hi everyone, being fairly new to the Midwest (this my 2nd summer only), please forgive me if this plant is well-known to everyone else. I got it at a home-based perennial farm and they said it was really an annual but would certainly reseed. It was about 3+ feet tall...like black-eyed susan but "daintier." Had the brown middle, but the yellow petals were shorter and rounder (cuter!?)and didn't overlap at all. Anyway, I collected seeds but it's driving me nuts that I don't know what it is. I thought maybe rudbeckia hirta but can't find a single pic that looks like my plant.

Do any fellow midwesterners know?
