Warm Fall = Emerging Bulbs?

Fellow Gardeners,

Should I be concerned that many of the bulbs I planted in mid-late Fall have broken ground? I counted 47 Hyacinths, 30-something daffodils and lots of grape hyacinth poking their heads above ground. The Tulips and Aliums are still hiding. Should I wait 'til colder weather to cover them with compost? I am new to northern climes (I hail from Monterrey, Mexico) and have little experience with bulbs. All replies will be greatly appreciated.
