Blue Spruce loosing inner needles, brown

Posted by queenbee23 Zone 5 (My Page) on

Has anyone had this problem b4? The blue spruce in front of my house is loosing its inner needles and it is looking empty and brown in towards the center of the tree! Is this common winter die-off? Or, is there something more that's wrong?
Thanks-

RE: Blue Spruce loosing inner needles, brown

As long as the browning remains near the center of the tree (not at the ends of the branches where the new growth will be) you should be just fine.
All indications are that this is normal fall needle drop.
