Have you seen them? They have a rather odd appearance, don't look like other dyed plants I've seen.

Yes -- ugh -- I don't like most of the odd colors, glittered, painted, dyed, or otherwise, although to each his own :) and I guess some people like them to match their decor. I sort of like some of the pink or white ones but to me a poinsettia will always look best in red! :)

I agree, nothing like a good old red poinsettia!

Saw them the other day and almost gagged. They must be RED,bright RED before I buy one.All the rest do not look real. Irene_IN

That beautiful lavender you saw was most likely 'Plum Pudding' . The nursery I used to manage sold them and we couldn't order enough. In fact people started getting on our waiting list by the end of September after the first year we had them. They are a natural color, not dyed or otherwise manipulated.

No, I googled that cultivar and that's not it. I wouldn't call that lavender. By lavender I mean it's rather pale, almost a pastel color. Maybe some would call it lilac.

I discovered these are painted. It's quite the fad that started about 6 years ago in Europe and is becoming popular with some over here. If you google painted poinsettia you can read more about it.

The lavender ones could be pretty in a certain setting.

I got one this year which is really cool and I like... it is a red with white quite strong variegated splashes on it. I really like it - unfortunately it did not have a variety name. I hope I can keep it alive...
