Yes, my daffodils are always up in the fall and grow throughout winter. The growth rate slows somewhat when it is bitterly cold.

They will be ok. But if they grow too tall and if it gets very cold in March, the blossoms will be sparse, because the first buds will freeze, but the secondary buds will come up later.

I'm glad I'm not the only one wondering whatsup with my daffodils! As you said Piegirl, the leaves are at least 6" long. I've been pouring over my flower books trying to get some information about this. I'm comforted that Pitimpinai doesn't find this alarming. Thanks to you both. I wonder if I should put down some straw mulch to protect them. Patti
