Callicarpa Lactea - from seeds?

Is there any difference in propigating Callica Lactea - white beautyberry - via seeds as opposed to it's more common purple cousin? Has anyone done it?

Thanks in advance for any insights.

RE: Callicarpa Lactea - from seeds?

Planted about 200 of the white-berried variety 2 years ago. Some of those bloomed and set fruit this past year(2008).
Of the ones that produced berries, about half were white, the others were purple.
I have seen very old shrubs, revert from all white berries, to about half and half, white and purple.
The white-berried form is genetically unstable and can produce either color of berries, even on the same shrub.
