Plant ID- any ideas

Walking in the woods near the Hudson River near Rhinebeck, NY, I came upon some seed pods on a branch that was either part of a shrub or vine.
The seed pods look something like money plant (lunaria) except they have three lobes.
The seeds inside also look like lunaria. Any ideas as to what this might be?

A stab in the dark, Staphylea trifoliata. Not in the same family as Lunaria ( mustard).
Scroll 3/4 down the page to see the pods.

Here is a link that might be useful: Staphylea trifoliata
