Wild Berry Indentification

Posted by downtown3 NJ (My Page) on

Hey Guys

I went on a hike this afternoon and stumbled on some type of bramble berry which has me stumped at the moment. It was found under a tree canopy attached to a thorn-less host bush. I thought it may be an edible berry but with it being winter it is rather difficult to identify with out its fruit or flower. Any ideas? Take a look at the quick video I posted of it. Thanks

RE: Wild Berry Indentification

Looks like a rose (Rosa sp.). There are many wild roses and rose hips are edible. Rose hips are high in vitamin C and have been used to make preserves and tea.

But before deciding to try and propagate your cuttings, just make sure it is not the dreaded Multiflora rose.
