Comments (3)I have 2013 bearclaw helleborus seeds. If you want to look over my list and see if i have anything else you might like. I have a few native seeds that might make it in zone 5. Do you have have natives from your area? If not maybe you can just send me a SASBE. I am really interested in plant seeds not vegs....See MoreNative shrub/small tree with blue berries

Comments (6)Hi NJnative, I was looking for something similar 2 years ago, and posted a thread to this forum at the time. There was a good discussion with lots of suggestions. See link below. I ended up buying a 6 foot Amelanchier x lamarkii (hybrid Serviceberry) in a 15 gallon pot. Pretty pricey, but I wanted instant gratification and overall it has not disappointed. My only complaint would be that it loses its leaves early, with little fall display. But it has flowered profusely and made lot of berries each Spring. Beautiful and yummy! I have since purchased another smaller Amelanchier canadensis and a batch of Amelanchier seedlings, and they hold their leaves longer and have nice fall color. How about Cornus florida, flowering Dogwood? My spot was a little small (Serviceberry tends to grow more upright than wide), but IMO there is no more beautiful native tree. Comments (4)Where I live, all I have to do is look out the window to see a lot of our native plants, shrubs, trees, or take a walk in a park which is very near by. I'm very fortunate to be almost surrounded by nature, so in my own garden I want something different. I'm sure there are a lot of people who are interested in native plants, hopefully they will get in touch with you. Good Luck. A.........See MoreArborBluffGirl
