I have had a crossvine for perhaps eight years and I have to say that I have been disappointed with it. It flowers beautifully, but the hummingbirds don't seem to like it. This has been the experience of others on the hummer forums. Also, mine has one good bloom and then afterwards there aren't many to speak of.

I have no experience with bourgainvillea because it's not hardy here . But I have five crossvines and all but one have bloomed for me. They bloomed in May and finished blooming in June and for the past two summers they rebloomed in August. I love them they are very pretty and almost evergreen in winter they are not as top heavy as trumpet vine or coral honeysuckle.Hope that helps. Sarah

Yeah, I guess I could try to make it on my own, but I'd be a little worried about getting those eye hooks in without splintering the wood. As far as cost, there's 7 frames on there, so even at $10 a pop I thought the price was pretty reasonable. I'd love to look around at other places, but I"m pretty much an online shopper. (work FT and 2 small kids make shopping time a luxury). I'm sure red envelope is over priced, but I can't find them online anywhere else. Maybe I can sneak out at a lunchbreak though. Thanks so much for the replies- and sorry for the terrible photos. I don't have any better pictures - I was really tryign to find out if any of the trees were part of the Cypress family. Someone was telling me that is what they were and I didn't think they looked the same at all from what I was finding online. The pics are from Georgia. It is great to know you don't think that is what they look like at all. At least that is a direction : ). If i can get some better pics I will post again here and make sure to get leaves.
