THanks you two. I did a little yahooing and googling and it does seem to be horse gentian, or something closely related. I kept missing it in the book I rely on most because the full image , including the final fruiting stage, was a thumbnail inset and hard to spot. After going back and having a better look, I realized that my initial description was really lousy. The fruits remind me more of miniature apricots! I did get several decent photos but I am still having trouble posting them---they exceed the allowed space so I need to learn to shrink! Isn't there a page that walks you through how to put up photos directly beneath your inital post, and not have to go through the Gallery?? I know I have seen it before somewhere but now I can't seem to find it. I knew I could get answers on this forum!

Hi Jason!!!! I'm loving your beautiful Jamaican Fire!! Drool, drool. ;-) Kandhi.. I also have the problems of the large trees, but I will manage with a few of my large trees.. I did hang some from my greenhouse this past winter using hooks and keeping them off of the ground. They did just fine... It's sad that I'm starting to think about winter storage again.. It just seemed like we brought them outside.. Ugh!! Denise.. Sounds like fun. Whoooo hooooo! A trip to Hawaii always make one smile.. Lol!! We all love traveling to these islands.. Dupefl.. I just took a picture for a friend in Florida of my Red Jack.. It's in a three gallon container. I do have it sitting inside a glazed container beside my stairs on the deck.. Red Jack is a compact tree and I really love mine.. It has a sweet fragrance and the coloration is a true red!! My tree has six branches.. Love this beauty !! I'll be back with the picture of my Red Jack... Laura

Lol... I just went and climbed over ac units and pool pumps to get to the other side. And, guess what. It was cut with loppers at some point. So I guess we have tulip tree! Now, how to get it out and possibly transplant? The roots go under the enclosure wall. Thanks guys!
