Is this dicentra?

Flower bud looks like a dicentra? I need to know whether to pull (invasive) or to let it spread. It came out of nowhere and in great numbers! Second pic is a blurry pic of its bud...strange shape!

Its flower bud....blurry bud in the middle....please ignore red leaves...some kind of cherry...

Looks like a white form of Lamprocapnos spectabilis. Not native but not invasive either.

Thanks https://www.houzz.co.uk/user/gardengal48 I was trying to find this sort of information on the web when this 'article' (which appears not really as a post but as if Houzz had had it authored) came up. Something like 3rd in my organic search and one of very few which actually addressed the topic. I would think that the Taxonomists removed plants and gave them new new names to imply that they are more closely related to each other than the rest of the Dicentra. What upsets a lot of amateurs and even professional Gardeners and Horticulturists is that the only plant they knew as Dicentra was amongst those removed. I wonder how it would have been if they had removed all but Dicentra spectabilis and re-named those instead? Dicentra formosa is in fact a more garden worthy plant in my opinion because it flowers much longer and does not need support.

A lot of these come from Asian sellers and they are all fairy tale plants :-) If these wildly colored varieties really did exist, do you not think you could find seeds for them locally? Or started plants at your local nursery? Blue strawberries - and all the other fantasy colored vegetables and flowers - simply do not exist and that is pretty darn easy to confirm if one takes the time to do some basic research........ There are also some recent threads that have discussed these seed scams. Jack Seeds is one of the biggest culprits and the web is full of complaints from duped customers. And even Etsy has been known to have unscrupulous purveyors on their site as well. Caveat emptor - buyer beware!!

Heruga, You’re nice to help the residents, they must appreciate that! I purchased 3 more dicentra ‘alba’ this year, they have lovely pure white flowers. I also love the dicentra ‘valentine’ on which the flowers tend toward red rather than the clear pink. All are lovely! I have a golden foliage one, very pretty but it catches my eye, making me feel like it’s fall all summer long. (Our main fall color is gold). My problem isn’t that the dicentra turn brown (due to my cool climate, they stay green), rather they get terribly floppy and that’s why I’m moving them to deeper shade, we don’t have maples but lots of birch. i like calling them lady’s locket, doubt I’ll ever get used to lamprocapnos

I now have for bleeding heart Dicentra ‘Gold Heart’ plants. I seem to see these used a lot almost as a bright punctuation mark in the shade garden. I’m not sure if I should group them together or separate them. Show me your photos of how you use yours!

Thank-you lycopus and elly! A bit confused...did Lamprocapnos used to be in the Dicentra genus? It is Lamprocapnos...flowers look like bleeding heart BUT it doesn't have the fern-like leaves of the true dicentra...I think that's what threw me :) ....and one more ? how did it get to me? Do squirrels/deer/birds eat the seeds? I am surrounded by woods...can't see my nearest neighbor, and this stuff didn't exactly choose the shadiest place to grow...but it looks ok...weird...I thought it needed to be in shade to grow!

Yes, it used to be called Dicentra spectabilis. It's not the same plant as Dicentra formosa or D. eximia, which as you noticed have more finely dissected leaves. Not sure how it got there but it is naturalized in many parts of North America.
