Is this Asclepias syriaca?

Over the past week, this plant has been coming up in some planting beds and what's left of my lawn. Hoping it's milkweed. Has the white latex when leaves are torn:

RE: Is this Asclepias syriaca?

Looks rather like one. Dogbane (Apocynum cannabinum) when it first comes up looks very similar but as the foliage matures it becomes obvious as to what it is.
