Native shrub identification

gribbit

Hello; I am trying to identify a native Pennsylvania shrub that I remember growing all along my driveway as a girl. I now live in the city so I don't have a picture handy, but perhaps someone can identify it by description!

It is a large shrub that grows along the edges of roads, fields and woods. It is fairly large, has small thorns, and leaves that resemble those of an olive tree (similar long, thin shape and grey-green color). It has small, white, wonderfully scented flowers in the spring, followed by red-orange berries.

Does anyone recognize this plant?

Thank you!
