My sincere thanks for the helpful link and for taking the time to look. Another person on the Butterfly forum thinks it might be what is commonly known in her region as 'Cudweed'. She said the 'Cudweed' plant is used by the American Ladies Butterflies, which is what I'm trying to attract, so I will keep these little plants for now. Oh, Sherry, I so hope you are correct. It does look like the tiny blooms. Wouldn't that be neat. I will keep the little plants. I do believe your photo looks very much like the plants I found. My back is messed up and I couldn't get down close to the plants to take a proper photograph. Thank you for taking the time to look. Now I've got to go research Cudweed, as I know nothing about it. Hoping it's a perennial but if not, maybe the dropped seeds will provide more plants next spring. That area is going to be my "Cudweed" bed for the American Ladies BF's! Ironically, I was pulling up the weeds, thinking I might plant the Pearly Everlastings there. Then I spotted the little plants and the leaves looked very much like the Pearly Everlastings leaves so thought I best leave them and check on their ID. My thanks once again for your help. ~Mary

this response is probably too late but - if I had a situation like yours and wanted to use pots, I would use at least a full gallon pot with good drainage, wet soil in pot(s) and flat where helichrysum seedlings are and lift a clump of strawflowers with roots undisturbed as much as possible into pot. Helichrysum is not a plant that like its roots disturbed. Keep soil wet, and after it is apparent which seedlings will survive, snip at ground level all but one or maybe 2 seedlings off as the plants need space. They also like sun, and once established water when they start to wilt. They need very little fertilizer.

stevie, in earlier comments on this thread, I explained that the plants are being grown under a a four tube grow light fixture. The T5 lights in this fixture are designed for growing plants, providing the proper color spectrum for strong plant growth, and I do grow the seedlings right up under the bulbs. I do not believe the problem, in my current situation, are the lights nor the placement of the seedlings under the lights. The stems on these seedlings are sturdy, it's just the height of the seedlings that caused me to think I might not be growing the specific dwarf tomato 'Red Robin'. I grew this tomato for the first time last year but didn't take photos so I've nothing to compare to this years growth. I began to question if the seed purchased as Red Robin this year is producing a Red Robin tomato plant so asked for a another set of eyes to take a look. Thank you for your interest. I learn so much from contributors here in the forums. Your advice regarding the conditions for growing good strong plants under lights is spot on but I don't think it applies to this situation. Mary
