Trillium Grandiflorum with Scent?

Hi folks. This spring, one hill in particular was just covered with Trillium grandiflorum, as usual. I'm relatively new to the area and to plants, so I didn't think much about the lovely scent they gave off --just enjoyed it. I made sure the scent actually was from them by sticking my nose in their faces. It lasted until they were pollinated and turned pink. I'd never smelled them before, but didn't see that as important. After all, there's also a lot of Calycanthus floridus here, which is supposed to have a nice scent, but which gave off almost none for 5 years until this spring, when they were heavenly. Just today, I happened to be reading a description of Trillium grandiflorum which said it has NO SCENT. A google of "Trillium grandiflorum +scent" yielded nothing. Has anyone else smelled them or heard of this?
