Eastern redbud record?

I have an eastern redbud that fell recently and I estimated its height (now length) at more than 50 feet (I have not had a chance to get an accurate measurement yet). A search of the Web found the record stated at 44 feet ( http://www.nsl.fs.fed.us/wpsm/Cercis.pdf ).

Yet other references say "height rarely exceeds 50 feet," implying the record is more than 44 feet.

My two questions are:

1) Does anyone have any reliable information on the record height for an eastern redbud?

2) Are there any Web resources that publish such records for all or most North American trees?

Thank you!
